Outback Licensing, owned and operated by Guy Field, makes heavy vehicle and high-risk equipment licensing simple and accessible across the Northern Territory.
With over 35 years in the transport industry, Guy knows what it takes to get drivers and operators licensed efficiently and safely. He started on the road as an interstate truck driver and has grown into training and assessment, including heavy vehicle licences, verification of competencies (VOC), and high-risk equipment like forklifts and elevated work platforms (EWPs).

After decades of driving, Guy moved into heavy vehicle training and assessment, first in Victoria and later in the Northern Territory. Experience lecturing in VET courses gave him the expertise to expand into high-risk equipment licensing.
He noticed a gap in accessible licensing across the NT - many operators faced delays or long travel distances. Outback Licensing was founded to provide a flexible, reliable service that comes to you, delivering practical assessments efficiently, without the red tape often found in larger organisations.
We focus on flexibility, practicality, and results. Whether you’re an individual seeking your first heavy vehicle licence, an employer needing staff assessed, or a business wanting high-risk equipment licensing, we tailor our service to suit the location, schedule, and needs of our clients.
By keeping our service small and personal, we can move quickly, work around operational requirements, and provide additional training if required, all without the delays often experienced in larger organisations.
Without trucks Australia stops, without drivers it never starts
